New Record House Price for Ascot

Hamilton Hill, as viewed from the Brisbane River Ascot's house price record has been eclipsed by the sale of 23 Sutherland Ave for $7.2m. Sutherland Avenue is no stranger to high prices, with the previous record of $6.12m being held by another property in the street.

The vendor was Mr George, who founded the Mrs Crocket's brand with his brother in 1983. The identity of the buyer is not currently known.

Sutherland Avenue is without doubt one of Ascot's finest streets. The home features both new and old homes, but is dominated by a number of grand old homes on large sprawling blocks with beautiful lawns and gardens.

In the September 2008 quarter, the median house price for Ascot was $1.63m, which placed it ahead of big brother Hamilton at $1.52m, and comfortably ahead of any other Brisbane suburb.
